AIMA appointment help — your bilingual interpreter.

Booked an AIMA appointment and worried about the Portuguese? I attend with you, translate every question live, and make sure you understand exactly what's being asked — a real person beside you, not a chatbot.

What this is

An interpreter beside you at AIMA

AIMA (Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo) handles residence and immigration matters in Portugal, and appointments are conducted in Portuguese. If you don't speak the language, you have the right to be accompanied by an interpreter or support person. That's where I come in.

I'm Andrea — a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English and Portuguese, living in Lisbon for four years. I attend your appointment as your interpreter, translate the conversation live, and help you understand and answer each question correctly. I am a support person, not a lawyer.

Common questions

Good to know

Can a non-lawyer accompany me to an AIMA appointment?

Yes. AIMA permits an interpreter or support person to attend with applicants who don't speak Portuguese. I attend as your interpreter, not as a legal representative. For visa strategy or legal action, I refer you to a qualified immigration lawyer.

Do you book the AIMA appointment for me?

The booking and your application file stay yours. I help you prepare, attend on the day, and interpret. If you'd like, I can also help chase supporting documents beforehand.

Which AIMA offices do you cover?

I attend appointments across the Lisbon metropolitan area, including Cascais, Estoril, Oeiras and Sintra. Tell me your office and date in the enquiry.

How much does it cost?

AIMA accompaniment is quoted per appointment depending on location and length. Send your appointment details and I'll reply with a fixed price in writing — typically the same business day.
